Where to stay in Paternoster? There are so many self catering cottages and houses for rent that one doesn’t know where to start. But today I will give you a free insider’s tip so you can stop searching the internet. Stay at a cottage from the Cottage Collection and you won’t regret it. We stayed in the ‘African Daisy’ cottage and had a fabulous time! Today I will show you a bit more, and will tell you about our experience.
African Daisy is a cute cottage, part of The Cottage Collection. They offer 10 cottages with space for 2 up to 6 people per cottage.
Our cottage was spacious, cosy and had a fire place!
I love the farm style kitchen.
The outside of the cottage.
Bathroom. Shower wasn’t great, I have to say…. Hardly any water…. But there is/was a second shower in the bedroom we didn’t stay in. That shower worked properly so we used that.
Comfy bedroom.
Sunset.
In the evening, after we came home from the restaurant we had dinner (Noisy Oyster ! Of course), we made a fire and had a glass of red…
Morning walk on the beach. Just 3 minutes from the cottage.
Fishermen go out to catch some fish…..
The Facts
The Cottage Collection offers about 10 cottages, suitable for 2 up to 6 people. Price is between R1300 – R2750 per night, depending on the time of the year. The cottages are all self catering, with fully equipped kitchen, bed linen, pillows and bathroom towels, outside area, braai, a safe large enough to store a laptop, tv, internet, welcome selection of tea and coffee, toiletries like soap, toilet paper and tissues, starter package of dishwasher tabs, and some of the cottages do have a fire place (some have not, so if you plan your getaway during winter months, check upfront! Fire place to me is a must then). There is a tiny supermarket when you enter Paternoster, but I recommend you to do your shoppings in Vredenburg, where they have a more proper shopping centre.
