If you’d like to go for a light, quick lunch in the Cape Winelands, and you fancy curry? Then go to Rickety Bridge! This stunning wine estate in the middle of the Franschhoek wine valley offers delicious prawn curry on their menu. Full and half portion. I was there a few weeks back and now I’m hooked!
Rickety Bridge is located along the R45 towards Franschhoek. It’s a beautiful wine estate where one can do wine tasting, see the Cape Dutch Manor House, play boules, join the weekly Saturday morning Park Run, or come for lunch at Paulina’s Restaurant.
The menu is light and fresh. There are several dishes you can order full or half portion. Perfect for lunch, or if you have planned dinner that day, too.
The prawn curry is divine. Comes together with a fresh yoghurt raita, basmati rice, naan bread, salsa, chutney and traditional sambals. Can you believe all this you can get for R80? (half a portion, a full portion costs R140)
I like the setting of Paulina’s restaurant. It’s a bit like a Parisian bistro. Outside on the verandah the seating is lovely too.
Ohhhh, divine! I will definitely come back to try something else from their menu. Or to have the same again, because it was so good!
