Enrico’s restaurant, Plettenberg Bay

We all have our favourite places to visit. Whether it’s a deli, beach, restaurant, clothing boutique, museum or bookshop; there will be always places you’d really like to come back to. And as many times as possible, please! I have that feeling with Enrico’s Restorante. The Italian lunch spot in Plett. It’s such a casual, relaxed place at Keurboom’s beach, Plettenberg. With the most simple, delicious Italian (sea)food and friendly staff. When the terrace, with its (not so pretty but typical Plett) wooden picnic tables is packed with people; families, friends, couples; old or young, locals or tourists, black or white and all in between; I find this such an happy place! When the Other Half and me are in Plettenberg, we always try to visit Enrico’s at least once. I usually take the seafood pasta or the fish of the day (“Fish Enrico”), or a Day Special with prawns, mussels or daily fresh fish. Enrico has its own boat, which goes out fishing almost every day, so freshness is guaranteed! Besides seafood, the impressive ‘bread garlic bombas’ are nice to start with for the table. Oh, and the portions here are generous. You can easily share a main together, and order it with a (Greek) salad, some fries or the bomba bread on the side. Pizza’s are also good here, but having said that; you can have a pizza everywhere. When at Enrico’s I would highly recommend the fresh fish, pastas or other typical Italian (sea)food. If you are not a fish person, then go for a veal dish! Italians are masters in preparing veal, for example pan-fried with butter, lemon and white wine sauce.

The Facts

Enrico’s is open for lunch every day, except on Mondays.
Restaurant is situated just outside Plettenberg Bay (a 15 minutes drive from the center of Plett), at Keurbooms beach. Enrico, the owner, is a real Italian and you’ll often see him in his own restaurant (Probably flirting with women, as I said; he is a real Italian, in every way).

Did you know.. You can catch your own fish by joining the Enrico’s Deep Sea Fishing Boat? Click here for more information.

* Note: I have not being asked or payed to write about Enrico’s. All lunches I enjoyed here were payed by ourselves in full. The photos in this article are mine.
